FAQ

Q.Can we remake a glass piece?

A. Yes! We may decline remakes should they be a direct copy of another artist’s work. Please touch base with us, as it varies piece to piece.

Q.How do I price my work?

A. Purchasing equipment and supplies to blow glass is very expensive, as nothing stays over 2,000 degrees fahrenheit without help. Colors vary in cost due to the elements used to make them (copper, cadmium, zinc, gold, etc.). I also have to pay an assistant as glassblowing is a team sport. I pay for studio use, an assistant and materials, then paying myself comes after. I do my best to make glass affordable for everyone, and will work with each customer to find a product that works for everyone’s budget.

Q. Can I really use ashes in glass?

A. Yes! Ashes in glass is a wonderful way to commemorate a loved one. We can make a one of a kind design to celebrate a one of a kind life.

Q. can i learn this?

A. Yes! I currently can offer private lessons at the Pittsburgh Glass Center, and can point you in the direction of glass in your area if you are interested. The glass community is a small enough world I can do research on artists in your area, and may even know one personally! Go blow some glass!

Q. Can I make Pipes or Bongs?

A. Yes we can! With the changing of times, glass art that is functional for smoking makes up a large part of the market. One of the first pieces that made me decide to blow glass was a piece a friend showed me of the whole galaxy on a pipe. I also have many friends who are much more talented, and can point you in the direction of someone who can make your “pipe dream” if we can’t.
